Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, reportedly had Tesla engineers evaluate Twitter’s software code after he took over the company and forbade Twitter employees from making any more changes.
According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk showed up at Twitter headquarters on Thursday to formally announce his acquisition of the company after the $44 billion purchase agreement concluded. Musk replaced the senior management, including Parag Agrawal (CEO), Ned Segal (CFO), and Vijaya Gadde (Legal and Safety Head). Company insiders say that General Counsel Sean Edgett was also let go and that he and the others were quickly removed from the company’s San Francisco premises.
Musk allegedly invited Tesla engineers into the headquarters to evaluate Twitter’s code and speak with product leaders. According to the sources, the Tesla engineers were there to analyze the code and assess the adjustments they feel the firm has to make to be in line with Musk’s vision.
After Musk expressed interest in purchasing Twitter, the company allegedly immediately blocked its developers from modifying the platform’s present coding.
According to insiders, Musk is planning to become Twitter’s CEO, although he may leave the job in the future and name a successor. Musk reportedly does not believe in lifetime bans. Thus, according to sources, he aims to do away with that feature of Twitter.
Thus, individuals like former President Donald Trump, who were banned from the site in the past, will be able to rejoin the platform. However, whether or not those who were previously forbidden decide to rejoin and Musk implements any more regulations remains to be seen.
