Virginia Giuffre, a central figure in exposing Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network, was found dead at her home in Neergabby, Western Australia, at the age of 41. Her family confirmed her passing was ruled a suicide.
Following her death, a 2019 statement she made resurfaced, in which Giuffre had publicly declared that she was not suicidal and urged people to protect her family if anything ever happened to her. The resurfacing of her words has fueled widespread concern and speculation.
Giuffre had long accused Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sexually abusing and trafficking her when she was a teenager. She also alleged being forced into sexual encounters with Prince Andrew, resulting in a civil lawsuit that was ultimately settled out of court in 2022.
In the months leading up to her death, Giuffre faced several personal challenges, including a reported car accident and a separation from her husband. Despite these hardships, she remained an active voice for survivors of sexual abuse.
Authorities have stated that her death is not being treated as suspicious, though investigations are ongoing.
