Following a “mishap” at Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina, the United States military has issued a call for assistance from the general public in their search for a missing F-35 fighter plane. As a consequence of the mishap, the pilot was able to safely eject from the aircraft, and now attempts are being made to retrieve the aircraft. In order to assist in the search, Joint Base Charleston has requested assistance from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.

Joint Base Charleston asked anybody who may have knowledge on the whereabouts of the missing F-35 to get in touch with the Base Defense Operations Center through a post on social media. In addition to that, they gave a phone number that people could call for assistance.

According to a subsequent post made by Joint Base Charleston, the search area has been narrowed down to the region north of JB Charleston, near Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion. This decision was made on the basis of the jet’s last-known position and in consultation with the FAA.

In spite of the efforts that have been made to find the missing fighter jet, the most recent report indicates that there have been no new discoveries made on its location.

A substantial amount of attention has been created on social media as a result of the occurrence, with some people expressing amazement at how an F-35 could go missing and others using the circumstance as an opportunity to make political comments, including criticism of the administration of Vice President Joe Biden. Nevertheless, securing the safe retrieval of the aircraft and gaining a better understanding of the events leading up to the accident continue to be the top priorities.
