The family of a man who died aboard a cruise ship has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit alleging he was served 33 alcoholic beverages in a single day before collapsing.
According to court documents, the passenger was reportedly given a large number of drinks by cruise staff despite apparent signs of severe intoxication. Later, he lost consciousness in his cabin, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The lawsuit claims the cruise line failed to uphold safe alcohol-serving practices by continuing to serve him and not intervening when his condition worsened. Relatives argue proper refusal of service or early medical attention might have prevented the fatal outcome.
The case brings focus to cruise-ship alcohol policies and raises questions about staff training and guest safety standards at sea.
