Two men—a 63-year-old father and his 25-year-old son—were shot dead following a robbery at their family’s jewelry shop in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. The incident began around 5:49 p.m. Saturday, when a male suspect entered the store, stole items and then engaged in a physical encounter outside. During the altercation, the gunman fired at least two rounds, striking both victims.
Chicago police investigators stated no arrests have been made yet and identified the victims as Faustino Alamo and Luis Alamo. The shooter fled in a white SUV that was seen leaving the scene, according to surveillance video and witnesses. The investigation remains ongoing with officers gathering footage, canvassing the area and working with public-tips services.
Cook County Crime Stoppers has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture. Funeral arrangements and further family statements are pending as the community processes the loss of two lives in what law-enforcement sources are treating as a deadly robbery-turned-shooting.
