Federal investigators have released the identity of the man accused of launching a brazen attack on the Newark workplace of Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, naming 51-year-old Keith Michael Lisa as the primary suspect. The incident, which unfolded on November 12 at the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building, triggered a major federal response and an urgent manhunt.

According to the FBI, Lisa first attempted to enter the federal building while carrying a baseball bat. Security officers prevented him from bringing the weapon inside, prompting him to discard it nearby before returning later in the evening. When he came back, authorities allege he forcibly damaged federal property connected to Habba’s office, leaving behind shattered glass and other signs of forced entry.

The Justice Department confirmed that Habba was not present during the incident and was unharmed. Federal officials described the attack as a direct threat to the nation’s judicial system at a time when prosecutors nationwide are facing heightened security concerns. The FBI has since issued an arrest warrant for Lisa on charges that include possession of a dangerous weapon in a federal facility and depredation of government property.

Investigators have also released surveillance images and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to his arrest. They are urging the public to come forward with any tips, stressing that Lisa should be considered dangerous.

Justice Department leadership condemned the attack, emphasizing that intimidation or violence aimed at federal prosecutors will be prosecuted aggressively. The investigation remains active as authorities track leads in multiple states.
