Authorities reveal that the FBI had tracked troubling online activity by 16-year-old Desmond Holly before he carried out the shooting at Evergreen High School in Colorado. The teenager, who critically wounded two students before taking his own life, had shared extremist content online and collected tactical gear marked with extremist symbols.
Online posts attributed to Holly included emulation of past shooters—including those responsible for the Columbine massacre—combined with white supremacist imagery. He had also commented on graphic “gore” forums and expressed fascination with mass shootings such as Parkland and Buffalo.
Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI’s Denver field office, were coordinating with local authorities as they investigated these digital warning signs. The investigation into Holly’s motive remains active as officials explore how his online behavior and ideological leanings may have influenced his actions.
