Federal Appeals Court Strikes Down California’s Ban on High-Capacity Magazines

Four years ago you would have broken down in laughter if someone suggested to you that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals would uphold the 2nd Amendment to the constitution, but that was before President Trump decided to do away with the archaic practice of allowing the Senators from the state where the appeals courts exist to be able to veto a choice made by a president that kept the Ninth Circuit Firmly in liberal hands.

What kind of judges could expect when Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris get a vote on who gets appointed? Don’t bother to answer because that was a rhetorical question. Under the old ways the court was packed with flaming liberals and became known as the 9th Circus Court of Appeals.

This week the 9th Circuit threw out a California law limiting the size of magazines that someone could own. The court said the law was unconstitutional.

    The court ruled:

“California’s near-categorical ban of LCMs infringes on the fundamental right to self-defense. It criminalizes the possession of half of all magazines in America today.”

“It makes unlawful magazines that are commonly used in handguns by law abiding citizens for self-defense. And it substantially burdens the core right of self-defense guaranteed to the people under the Second Amendment. It cannot stand.”

In changing the make up of the 9th Circuit Court, Trump did more than change the ideological leaning of the court, he reintroduced the constitution as the final word. This is exactly why we need four more years of Trump. And remember, over the next four years the president could be naming replacements for two extremely liberal judges.
