By submitting articles of impeachment against President Biden on Friday, Florida Republican Rep. Greg Steube defied his party’s leadership.
Steube felt the need to move right away, even though various congressional committees are painstakingly assembling evidence to support the resignation of Biden. He presented articles of impeachment against Biden, charging him with aiding and abetting his son Hunter’s alleged wrongdoings and seeking to protect him from legal repercussions.
The moment has arrived to remove Joe Biden from office, Steube said in a statement. At the expense of the American people, he has damaged the legitimacy of his position, soured public opinion of the White House, betrayed the confidence the American people had in him as President, and acted in a way that is inconsistent with the rules of law and justice.
In Steube’s publications, Biden is accused of four serious crimes and misdemeanors.
In the first piece, Biden is accused of abusing his position by allegedly collecting bribes, participating in Hobbs Act extortion, and defrauding honest services providers while holding a public office. These allegations stem from Biden’s alleged involvement in family business dealings, including claims that Hunter and James Biden, the president’s brother, tried to exchange access to the then-Vice President Biden from 2009 to 2017 for financial rewards and business opportunities from both domestic and international business partners.
In a report that was just made public, Rep. James Comer, the head of the House Oversight Committee, claims that the Biden family received foreign contributions totaling more than $20 million. Democrats, meanwhile, assert that none of the information shows that Vice President Biden took any funds or committed any illegality.
In the second article, President Biden is accused of obstructing justice. This is based on testimony from an IRS whistleblower who claimed that “individuals within the Biden campaign improperly coordinated with officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to interfere with investigations into tax offenses allegedly committed by Hunter Biden.” Hunter Biden’s administration hasn’t interfered with David Weiss’ investigation, according to the DOJ and the special counsel, who was hired to do so.
In the third and fourth articles, Biden is charged with participating in “fraud” and with funding Hunter Biden’s usage of illicit drugs and dealings with sex workers.
The proof that the Biden family has directly benefited from Joe’s political positions through bribery, intimidation, and dishonesty grows more every day. Joe Biden’s continued presence in the White House must end because it puts our country at risk, according to Steube.
The Secret Service Chief must write a report on the unauthorized use of prohibited narcotics at the White House, according to a measure presented concurrently by Steube. This congressional action comes after the Secret Service wrapped up its probe into the cocaine found at the White House last month without naming a suspect. Steube gave the legislation the moniker “Helping Understand Narcotics Traces at the Executive Residence (HUNTER) Act.”
One of the top law enforcement organizations in the world is acknowledged to be the United States Secret Service (USSS). It is completely unacceptable that the USSS was unable to find the cocaine’s origin inside of one of the world’s most guarded buildings, said Steube. “The Americans demand explanations. My measure calls for openness into the closed investigation into the cocaine that was discovered in the White House in July, with a particular emphasis on how Congress may exercise oversight to stop further illicit drug use there.
At least four investigations by GOP-led committees looking for methods to remove Biden or his senior aides have been surpassed by Steube’s articles of impeachment. Calls for Biden to be fired from his position have been rejected by the White House.
We won’t guess on the goals or course of action of House Republicans because it would be hypothetical. They are free to do that. They must deal with that; it is their duty. In July, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “What I can talk about is what we’re doing right now.
“The economic numbers are better than economists had anticipated. This is directly related to what the President did. We’re still committed to making life better for Americans and giving them more breathing room.
