Popular podcast presenter Joe Rogan recently blasted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for her “amazing gaslighting” on his show.
Rogan made the comments to comic Duncan Trussell as they were both dressed up for Halloween.
It is not part of a lawyer’s business to make an arbitrary decision. Maybe he did it, and maybe he’s lying, I thought. In your professional opinion, your client should be let off. This is why many people avoid becoming defense attorneys; it’s a slippery f***ing odd world. Do you not think that this is also true of the government? If you’re the White House press secretary and you’re that poor woman, ” It was Rogan who got things rolling. As one worker put it, “It’s the f***ing worst job. The work is terrible. Every bit of the president’s vitriol, but none of his authority. It’s like, “f***, everyone despises you.”
Rogan brought up President Joe Biden’s search for a recently deceased lawmaker at a recent White House event, highlighting the case of Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who Rogan pointed out had died.
Jean-Pierre addressed the event, saying that Biden was searching for the deceased congresswoman because she was “top of mind” and that it had nothing to do with a mental impairment.
“‘Primary concern. We kept thinking about her. Considering the resources at her disposal, Rogan remarked, “that was some remarkable gaslighting.” A nice one since its nonsense is “top of mind.”
Trussell insinuated that Jean-Pierre did not come up with the “top of mind” defense of the president on her own and must have enlisted the aid of a third party.
Rogan concurred, saying, “I think that absolutely is probably what occurs.” “There’s certainly some discussion over the most effective wording… So, she acts similarly to a defense lawyer in that respect. Their role is to try to talk their customer out of it. It’s her duty to do that.
In a recent episode featuring celebrity psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw, Rogan criticized the media for gaslighting viewers over the fitness for office of Pennsylvania Democratic U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman.
Some of the gaslighting you’re experiencing are really perilous, so Rogan warned, “it may simply be f***ing propaganda.” Yes, you did hear Dr. Oz and Fetterman square off in Pennsylvania’s senate race. And five months ago, Mr. Fetterman suffered a stroke. And he’s obviously compromised to the point where he’s not simply tripping over his words when he does talk. He seems distracted and confused, unable to complete a thought or a statement. He seemed disturbed. And there I was, watching MSNBC, listening to their attempt to explain, “Well, you know, sometimes I mess up when I talk, and you know, I misspeak, and I stumble over my words.”
“Of course you do; we’re all human; everyone does. “I do that all the time,” Rogan went on. But there is a significant distinction between the full hour-long discussion. Look at this guy; he looks to have major mental issues. Not surprising, therefore, that you would resort to gaslighting and denial to avoid acknowledging the obvious. That’s not only scary; that’s harmful propaganda.
