If Trump’s announcement in 2024 sways Pence, he is “not going to allow anybody else chooses us,” as Pence put it.
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America According to former Vice President Mike Pence, the Republican Party’s dismal performance in this week’s midterm elections may be directly attributed to Trump’s repeated re-litigation of his 2020 electoral loss.
Pence has said that Trump’s statement this week that he will run for president in 2024 won’t sway his decision, and he is seriously considering a run for the presidency himself.
Fox News Digital interviewed former Vice President Mike Pence the night before the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting in Las Vegas. Pence was asked about the results of the midterm elections, in which the GOP performed much worse than expected in what was supposed to be a “red wave” election, losing key governors’ races and falling short of a Senate majority while holding onto a razor-thin majority in the House.
I want to be among the first to properly thank everyone involved when departing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi takes over for new Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy in early January. On that day, America, as a whole, will enjoy a fantastic day.
He stated, “I believed we could have won the Senate and several governorships, but we fell short.” I would have preferred a greater majority.
Some Republicans have come out after the midterms to criticize the former president for his support of extreme MAGA candidates who won the Republican nomination but lost in high-profile, close general races. These contenders agree with Trump that the 2020 election will be fraudulent.
At a recent event, former Vice President Pence said that in the next midterm elections, all Americans might unite behind a single topic. Candidates who could see the big picture were the ones who fared best. Candidates that recycled tired old talking points and refused to move on from the past typically fared poorly at the polls.
When asked if Trump bears any responsibility, the ex-VP stated, “I would say my former running partner was one of the ones talking about the past, and it was not helpful.”
Last but not least,” he hastened to add. Those who were legally elected to office have no one but themselves to blame. I think voters were looking for a new direction in politics and were tired of politicians and campaigns that focused on the past.
To prepare for the 2022 race, Pence has spent the greater part of the past year and a half touring the country to collect money for and promote Republican candidates. Many of his campaign efforts have been focused on the first four states to vote in the Republican presidential nomination calendar: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. In preparation for a possible run for president, the former VP has been meeting with influential people and cultivating contacts in states that have primaries and caucuses at the start of the campaign cycle.
Pence claims he won’t run for president until 2019, but he and his wife Karen are ready to “make a choice wherever we feel called, and we’ll wherever we’re called” if asked to do so.
When asked how Trump’s announcement for 2024 would affect him personally, Pence responded, “The only decision Karen and I have made is that we won’t allow anybody else to make choices for us.” Truth be told. You are now in a completely free country. It’s great that former President Trump is using his right to seek re-election, but for us, it’s all about the mission.
Pence has also praised Republican Lee Zeldin of New York, who almost defeated Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul in the race for governor of New York last week. Four Republican victories in the New York State Assembly may be traced back to Zeldin’s campaign. If Ronna McDaniel is successful in her pursuit for a fourth two-year term as head of the Republican National Committee, Zeldin is seriously contemplating challenging her.
There are no words to express my respect for Lee Zeldin. During his run for New York governor, Vance remarked, “He waged a brave campaign.” With the four new Republicans that More York is sending to Congress as a result of his campaign for governor, it’s possible that the Republicans will gain a four-seat majority in the House. Furthermore, I simply cannot sing Lee Zeldin’s praises loudly enough.
When asked if he would encourage Zeldin to run for RNC chair, Pence responded, “I’ll leave those decisions to members of the Republican National Committee.”
In a meeting of the RJC’s top leaders, Pence spoke out in support of Israel and opposition to President Biden’s effort to resume nuclear talks with Iran.
Pence argued that the Obama administration’s new nuclear deal with the mullahs in Tehran would be void if a Republican was elected president.
