As President Biden celebrated his 81st birthday, discussions intensified regarding his age and perceived waning cognitive abilities. Texas Republican Representative Ronny Jackson, a former White House physician, expressed serious concerns about these issues.
In a conversation on “Sunday Morning Futures” with guest anchor Sean Duffy, Jackson, who has medical experience with three former presidents, stressed that the presidency demands immense mental and physical strength. He openly doubted President Biden’s capacity to effectively fulfill these demands, citing a noticeable decline in his cognitive abilities.
Jackson, who has previously urged Biden to undergo a cognitive assessment and questioned his suitability for the 2024 presidential race, observed that Biden’s cognitive decline was apparent even during the 2020 campaign against then-President Donald Trump. Jackson, a supporter of Trump for the 2024 election, emphasized the risks of Biden’s continued presidency and potential re-election.
Recent polls, including an NBC News survey, have shown a shift in young voter sentiment, with Biden losing ground among Generation Z voters. This demographic is critical for the Democratic Party, yet the poll indicated a preference for Trump over Biden among voters aged 18 to 34.
Amid speculation about potential Democratic nominees, including California Governor Gavin Newsom and former First Lady Michelle Obama, the question of Biden’s replacement remains unresolved.
Jackson, continuing his dialogue with Duffy, expressed broader concerns about the state of the nation, citing issues like the crisis at the southern U.S. border, rising international tensions, and economic challenges. He argued that current global conflicts and a lack of fear or respect from international adversaries are consequences of weak leadership in the White House.
Concluding his remarks, Jackson emphasized the necessity for someone within Biden’s inner circle to address these concerns. He argued that for the nation’s safety and security, Biden should recognize his limitations and consider stepping down from his role.
