In a recent tragic incident, three friends and Kansas City Chiefs fans, David Harrington (37), Ricky Johnson (38), and Clayton McGeeney (36), were found deceased in the backyard of their friend Jordan Willis’ house in Kansas City, Missouri. This occurred on January 9, two days after the group had gathered to watch the Chiefs play against the Los Angeles Chargers in their final regular-season game.
Jordan Willis, unaware of the grim reality outside, reportedly slept for nearly 48 hours after the game. The bodies were only discovered following a welfare check by the police at Willis’ residence. As the families of the deceased await the toxicology reports, the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain shrouded in mystery and skepticism.
Jon Harrington, David Harrington’s father, expressed doubts about the narrative provided by Willis. He suspects that Willis might have played a role in the incident, citing the improbability of healthy men suddenly passing away without apparent cause. Similarly, David Harrington’s mother, Jennifer Marquez, is skeptical about Willis’ claim of being unaware of the situation. She questions why Willis hadn’t noticed the absence of his friends and why no drug or alcohol tests were conducted on him post-discovery.
The Kansas City police, however, have not indicated any suspicion of foul play on Willis’ part, and no charges have been filed. A fifth friend, who left the gathering earlier, confirmed that all were alive and well when he departed. Willis, a PhD holder and a senior scientist at IAVI Neutralizing Antibody Center’s Schief Lab, has since moved out of the rental property due to concerns over potential retaliation.
This tragic event has left the community and the families of the deceased seeking answers and closure. The investigation continues, with the hope that the forthcoming reports might shed light on the baffling and unfortunate demise of the three friends.
