At a performance during the Iowa State Fair Kid Rock, hopefully soon to be a Senator?, just HAD to get political with the crowds there. While performing his song “Born Free” Rock thought it would be a good idea to call out former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick who, as I’m sure you know, had refused to stand for our great country’s national anthem that’s played before games last year… supposedly over the alleged “racially-targeted police brutality”.
“Football’s about ready to start,” said Rock. “You know what? F*** Colin Kaepernick.”

I would seriously be interested in seeing what Kid Rock could do, politically. His music and sound has matured a lot over his debut in the 90’s and while that’s for sure not a qualifier to run for senator I’m not entirely against. Many celebrities enter the political ring and do rather well.
While some of us may rather see a return to a more normalized, perhaps professional, demeanor when comes to our politicians and politics I really feel like people like President Trump and Kid Rock help break the mold and allow more young people to relate to politics. As long as they always remember who put them in office (hint: it’s WE THE PEOPLE!)

Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, first made political waves during the 2016 election, publicly supporting Donald Trump; the rock star even released a line of Trump-themed clothing.
But things became even more politically serious this summer when Ritchie floated the idea of running for U.S. Senate in 2018, to represent his home state of Michigan.
According to The Des Moines Register, the musician kept the fair mostly politics-free, aside from this Kaepernick outburst and selling some “Kid Rock for U.S. Senate” t-shirts for $25 a pop.
