German political activist Naomi Seibt, aged 25 and frequently dubbed the “anti-Greta,” has filed for political asylum in the United States, citing ongoing death threats from Antifa activists and alleged surveillance by German intelligence services. She claims that the German police told her they could not act unless she had been physically harmed.
Seibt says she began her asylum process under Section 208 of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act and was encouraged in the move by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who she says privately expressed concern over her safety in Europe. She contends the German authorities have not provided sufficient protection and emphasized her desire to achieve U.S. citizenship, calling America a “foundation of hope.”
Known for her outspoken views opposing climate-change activism, immigration policies, and championing free speech, Seibt has positioned herself as a counter-voice to climate campaigner Greta Thunberg. She now resides in the U.S. — Sen. JD Vance and other Republican congresswomen have publicly supported her asylum bid.
