GOP Lawmaker Offers Bill to Shut Down Mueller’s Investigation

Rep Todd Rokita (R) IND has offered up what I like to call the put up or shut up bill. If passed, this bill would give Mueller just 30 days to come up with evidence of collusion or shut down.

Since there was no collusion and Mueller is only using that as a pretense to study Trump’s entire life, it’s a no-brainer. The investigation would close 20 months and 17 million dollars after it started. OK all you liberals, you can start shouting cover up now. Despite the fact there has been an FBI investigation, 5 congressional investigations, and a special counsel, they have not found one shred of evidence that any collusion occurred.

Not even the Democrats think the investigation will uncover any evidence of collusion. They just want a cloud hanging over the president through the midterm elections. It may not matter anymore as their anticipated blue wave is fizzling out, especially in the Senate where Republicans have an excellent chance of picking up a net of six seats or more as incumbent Democrats are behind in the polls.

    The Hill reported:

Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.), who is currently running for Senate, introduced a resolution in the House on Thursday calling for an end to special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russia investigation unless evidence of collusion is produced within the next 30 days.

Rokita argued the investigation needs to be resolved quickly to “preserve the integrity of our democratic institutions.” Rokita added he believes it’s fiscally irresponsible to drag out the probe, estimating it has cost taxpayers upward of $17 million.

“The Mueller investigation has dragged on for nearly a year at a cost of tens of millions of dollars without producing a shred of evidence of collusion—the matter it was tasked with investigating in the first place,” he said in a statement. “I expect a valid progress report within the next 30 days or the investigation should be terminated.”
