A 64-year-old man from Scio, New York, has been charged with second-degree murder following a deadly road rage incident on the Long Island Expressway service road in North Hills, Nassau County.
The confrontation took place on April 25, 2025, around 2:14 p.m., when Brian Noll, driving a 2022 Ford pickup truck, allegedly swerved into a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Ibis Alex Baez of the Bronx. The impact sent Baez into a guardrail, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Noll, who was accompanied by a 66-year-old female passenger who was unharmed, later turned himself in to authorities. During his arraignment, Noll pleaded not guilty, with his defense attorney arguing that Baez was riding recklessly and allegedly attempted to strike the truck’s side mirror prior to the collision.
Baez, an HVAC installer, was reportedly heading to a job site at the time of the crash. His family described him as kind, non-confrontational, and a man who had plans to move to Florida to launch his own business and pursue his love of fishing.
This case marks the second fatal road rage incident involving a motorcyclist on the Long Island Expressway in April 2025, raising alarms over escalating aggression on the roadway.
Noll is being held on $300,000 cash bail or a $1.5 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 14. Authorities have urged any additional witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
