Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a founding Hamas leader, recently shared his story of denouncing the terrorist organization and converting to Christianity. Yousef, who once spied for the Israelis and sought asylum in the U.S., opened up about his journey during an interview on “FOX & Friends.”
Yousef’s unique perspective sheds light on the inner workings of Hamas, as he was born into the heart of its leadership. He revealed his disillusionment with the group, emphasizing that they showed no genuine concern for the Palestinian people or the value of human life. He cited a critical turning point in 1996 when he spent approximately 18 months in Megiddo Prison. During this period, he witnessed the brutality of Hamas, as they were responsible for the deaths of numerous Palestinian individuals. It was then that he decided to distance himself from the organization.
Despite enjoying privileges within Hamas, Yousef admitted that he had never truly liked the group. His strong aversion to the organization led him to break ties with his own family and ultimately leave the world of Hamas behind. He pointed out the alarming capabilities of Hamas, which he had the foresight to recognize 25 years ago. This interview came in the wake of Hamas’s recent attacks on Israeli border communities, which included the gruesome murder and dismemberment of civilians, including children, and the taking of hostages.
Yousef disclosed that Hamas’s goals extend beyond national interests. Instead, they aim to establish an Islamic state, emphasizing their disregard for Palestinian nationalism. He revealed that Hamas manipulates the Palestinian cause to further their own agenda of transforming the Middle East and the world into an Islamic state.
Yousef also highlighted the role of Iran, a known sponsor of Hamas, as a major contributor to the conflict. He pointed out that Hamas ultimately serves Iran’s interests and accused them of using Palestinian people as human shields.
In conclusion, Yousef emphasized the need to liberate Gaza from Hamas, and he suggested that Israel’s efforts to combat the terrorist organization are in the best interest of the Palestinian people. The ongoing conflict in the region has resulted in casualties on both sides, including at least 30 Americans.
