In a public statement celebrating the recent release of Israeli hostages and the Gaza ceasefire agreement, former Vice President Kamala Harris praised “the President” for his role—carefully stopping short of naming Donald Trump.

Harris described the moment as “an important first step toward healing and peace,” and expressed relief and gratitude for the safe return of the hostages. She echoed the broader call for continued diplomatic engagement and international cooperation, crediting a coalition of partners for making the deal possible.

Though her remarks acknowledged the gravity of the breakthrough, Harris avoided referencing Trump by name, focusing instead on the outcome and path forward. She emphasized that the United States must now help lead reconstruction, uphold human dignity, and ensure the deal endures.
