Kamala Harris reportedly snapped at her team during preparations for a health-focused podcast interview, angrily demanding, “What the f— was that?” after she was left underprepared.
In her memoir, Harris describes arriving for the interview after a long day only to find aides had given her no briefing. She claims she slid a note across the table asking, “Where’s my briefing?” and that staffers stared blankly back—conceding they had “nothing.”
The interview in question was with Dr. Mike on his “Checkup” podcast. Harris says the producers informed her team the discussion would be brief and about a Trump-era health policy announcement, but during the sitdown, the host delved into broader topics like health care costs, women’s health access, and scientific misinformation.
On reflecting later, Harris wrote that she interrupted a staffer mid-explanation and snarled, “‘Brian,’ I said… that was a rhetorical question.” She said the experience felt like an ambush—one for which her team had failed to supply the necessary tools.
The incident adds to other reports about her challenging relationship with aides and how she engages during unscripted media appearances.
