Kirstjen Nielsen, Secretary of the DHS told illegals from the Honduran caravan that if they cross the US border despite warnings that they would be arrested and will face jail time before being deported.
She said that President Donald Trump ordered her to stop this caravan and any other that try to force themselves into the United States. President Trump has also told Mexico that he may insist that in order to keep NAFTA they must stop illegals from using their country as a highway to the United States.
The Washington Times reported:
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Monday promised members of the illegal immigrant caravan still making its way to the U.S. border that they could face criminal charges if they jump the border despite all the warnings.
The migrants insist they are refugees seeking asylum from specific oppression at home, not rank-and-file illegal immigrants trying to reunite with family or get jobs or a better life in the U.S. They said they’ll make their case.
But Mr. Nielsen said if they are seeking a safe place away from their Central American homes they would stop in Mexico, where they are currently traveling, and where authorities are able to provide asylum.
“If you enter the United States illegally, let me be clear: you have broken the law. And we will enforce the law through prosecution of illegal border crossers,” she said.
President Trump, as well, has spoken about the “caravan”…
“Despite the Democrat inspired laws on Sanctuary Cities and the Border being so bad and one-sided, I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security not to let these large Caravans of people into our Country. It is a disgrace. We are the only Country in the World so naive! WALL”

“Mexico, whose laws on immigration are very tough, must stop people from going through Mexico and into the U.S. We may make this a condition of the new NAFTA Agreement. Our Country cannot accept what is happening! Also, we must get Wall funding fast.”

On Sunday, Fox News reported about 50 Central American migrants had just reached the US border:
A group of about 50 Central American migrants who fled southern Mexico in late March have reportedly reached the U.S. border and plan to seek asylum.
“Since yesterday, some began to cross into the United States to turn themselves in from Tijuana and request asylum. We understand more of (the migrants) will do the same,” Jose Maria Garcia, director of Juventud 2000, an organization dedicated to assisting migrants, told Reuters.
