House Bill To Protect Women’s Sports Fails To Get A Single Democrat Vote

On Thursday, the House passed a law that would stop transgender guys from playing in sports groups for women.

With the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 would be changed to make it illegal for “a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is meant for women or girls.” In the end, 219 Republicans voted for the plan and 203 Democrats voted against it.

Democrats sometimes try to make themselves seem more radical than they really are. On Wednesday, Virginia Foxx (R-NC), who is the chair of the House Education and Workforce Committee, said the following. Foxx said that the Democrats’ accusations that the bill was racist went too far and were almost insane. When one group attacks another’s ideas but doesn’t come up with any of their own, it says a lot about the attacking group. Democrats haven’t shown that letting real guys play women’s sports is fair because it gives them the same chances as women.

Many people think it’s unfair to let transgender athletes play in women’s leagues because women can’t physically fight with guys.

Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas tied with female winner Riley Gaines. Former male track athlete CeCe Telfer was featured on an ESPN show for Women’s History Month, and MMA fighter Fallon Fox moved to competing as a woman.

The Democratic Party says that the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act is racist because it tells women not to play sports. Ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out against the bill, saying that “trans kids are all God’s children” and should be accepted “in sports, in schools, in books, in families, and on teams.”

The Democrats in the Senate need to schedule a vote on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act as soon as possible. Monday, the White House said that Vice President Joe Biden had rejected the plan.

The letter stressed that “schools, coaches, and athletic associations around the country are already working with families to develop fair rules for participation that take into account specific sports, grade levels, and levels of competition.” A recent study on this topic found that more national laws that shame transgender teens are not needed, hurt families and students, and put children in more danger. Discrimination has no place in the American way of life or in American sports.

A woman who said she was a guy recently killed three children and three adults at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. This school is run by the strict evangelical Covenant Presbyterian Church. In the wake of this tragedy, the White House has come under fire for bringing high-level officials to several Transgender Day of Visibility events. Three Democratic students from Tennessee who were punished or kicked out of school for planning a protest against gun crime will meet with Vice President Joe Biden.

Even though sex change treatments like surgery and cross-sex hormones could hurt children in the long run, Democrats have stopped states from putting limits on them. It is against the law for children to go to sexually explicit drag shows, and this rule has been accepted in areas that are more traditional.
