In a recent interaction with a FOX Business reporter, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, addressed questions regarding his decision to involve his father in business calls with Ukrainian associates. The conversation occurred as Hunter Biden was leaving a House hearing, where Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) had begun questioning him about the ongoing impeachment investigation into President Biden.
FOX Business reporter Hillary Vaughn approached Hunter Biden as he exited the Rayburn office building on Capitol Hill. She inquired, “Why did you put your dad on speakerphone during these business meetings if he had nothing to do with your business?” Hunter Biden responded by asking if Vaughn had a father and if she answered his calls, to which Vaughn affirmed.
Despite Biden’s indirect response, Vaughn persisted, seeking clarification on why he discussed business matters with his father during these meetings if the latter was not involved in his business activities.
This line of questioning stems from revelations by Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former close friend and business collaborator in Ukraine. Archer testified to lawmakers in July about President Biden’s involvement with Hunter’s business associates during his tenure as vice president from 2009 to 2017.
Archer recounted instances where he observed both Hunter and Joe Biden, either in person or via telephone, attending meetings with foreign business partners and potential investors. According to Archer, Hunter introduced his father to these associates on multiple occasions. He also claimed that Hunter put his father, then the vice president, on speakerphone in meetings with business partners at least 20 times, using Joe Biden’s presence to bolster the credibility and appeal of their business endeavors.
