In 2018, text messages reviewed by Fox News Digital revealed an interesting exchange between Hunter Biden and his longtime friend and business partner, Devon Archer. After learning that a judge had thrown out Archer’s conviction, Hunter expressed relief and happiness, saying it was the “first good news in way too long.” He encouraged Archer to put the ordeal behind him and move forward positively, with brotherly affection.
The text exchange took a humorous turn when Hunter joked about liking Archer “better as a felon.” Hunter also expressed his determination to have the “last laugh,” seemingly referencing the Department of Justice.
Archer is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee, where he is expected to share insights into President Biden’s interactions with numerous business associates while he served as vice president. Allegedly, explosive allegations about the elder Biden’s involvement in business calls and meetings with these associates will be discussed during the closed-door testimony.
Archer’s attorney asserted that his client is committed to cooperating with the committee, as he has done with various government agencies during investigations involving the Biden family.
Archer’s knowledge of the business arrangements comes from his extensive collaboration with Hunter, including their time on the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings.
The Fox News Digital report revealed that several Rosemont Seneca Partners representatives, including Archer, visited the White House multiple times when Biden was vice president.
Additionally, Archer had personal meetings and interactions with Biden during his vice presidency, including a holiday reception and a visit to the West Wing. They also played golf together in the Hamptons.
Archer’s legal issues resurfaced despite his 2018 conviction being initially thrown out. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated his conviction, and he was sentenced to prison in February of the following year.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office has requested Archer to report to prison for his role in defrauding a Native American tribal entity and investment advisory clients, but his counsel has suggested that further appeals might be considered.
Hunter Biden’s and Archer’s attorneys have not provided responses to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
The upcoming testimony of Devon Archer before the House Oversight Committee is anticipated to shed more light on the complex web of business dealings involving the Bidens and their associates.
