The omission of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, from the official Marine One passenger list has drawn criticism from House Republicans, spotlighting ongoing concerns about transparency within the White House.
Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich recently reported an incident where Hunter Biden was observed disembarking from Marine One, despite not being listed on the official passenger manifest provided by the White House. This instance has prompted questions from the House Republican Conference about potential omissions in other official records, including White House visitor logs.
During a press briefing, when asked about the likelihood of announcing Hunter Biden’s presence on Marine One in the future, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that revealing such details, especially about family members traveling with the president, is not a standard practice. This response aligns with the White House’s position that personal visits by the First and Second Families are not typically disclosed in official records.
A recent review by Fox News Digital, scrutinizing the White House visitor logs from the start of the Biden administration until February 2023, found no record of Hunter Biden’s visits. This absence includes multiple events he reportedly attended, such as the annual egg roll, Medal of Freedom ceremony, France State Dinner, Christmas tree lighting, and his daughter’s wedding.
The White House’s policy on not releasing access records related to personal guests of the First and Second Families, which seems to be less transparent than the approach during the Obama administration, has been pointed out as a potential area of concern. It has been noted that Hunter Biden’s presence at these events was not documented in the visitor logs, including instances of extended stays.
Hunter Biden, who recently defied a Congressional subpoena and is facing legal challenges, including nine tax-related charges in California, was also spotted shopping with President Biden in Delaware. The potential legal consequences he faces could include up to 17 years in prison if convicted.
As of now, the White House has not provided an immediate response to inquiries regarding this matter.
