Vice President JD Vance fired back at Joe Biden’s recent criticism of the Trump administration’s diplomacy, branding Biden’s foreign policy record as a “total disaster” and pointing to the outbreak of war in Ukraine under Biden’s leadership.
Vance responded to Biden’s remarks following a high-profile meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. While reaffirming support for Ukrainian sovereignty, Vance made clear that the current administration is recalibrating America’s role in the conflict, suggesting a reduced involvement in direct negotiations. Despite Russia rejecting the latest ceasefire proposal, Vance expressed guarded optimism about future progress.
Shifting to international trade, Vance announced a newly signed tariff agreement with the United Kingdom, the first major trade deal of the Trump administration’s current term. He hinted at further talks with other global partners, including China, to pursue similarly favorable deals.
On the domestic front, the vice president highlighted momentum behind a major anti-fraud campaign known as DOGE, which is being spearheaded by Elon Musk under the oversight of Attorney General Pam Bondi. Prosecutions tied to the initiative are expected to move forward soon.
Vance also addressed speculation about friction with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, brushing aside rumors and indicating that while his focus remains on the current administration, he is open to a future presidential run in 2028.
His remarks reinforced the Trump administration’s “America First” posture, calling for a redefinition of U.S. priorities on the global stage and a stronger commitment to national economic and security interests.
