Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old tennis player and coach, was fatally shot by her father, Deepak Yadav, inside their family house in Gurugram on July 10. According to authorities, he discharged five shots, four of which struck her, following numerous disagreements regarding her ongoing coaching activities, which allegedly caused him to feel embarrassed due to local criticism.

Police clarified that Radhika only reserved courts to train aspiring players, despite previous reports indicating that she owned a tennis academy. According to reports, her father was humiliated by the insults of his neighbors, who knew that he depended on her income and had repeatedly requested that she cease coaching. He eventually acknowledged the incident, despite her objections, after reaching a breaking point.

In recent years, Radhika has transitioned to coaching after competing in 36 ITF singles and seven doubles matches. She is remembered by her friends as a mentor who was ambitious, kind, and intelligent. The community has been left in a state of shock by her sudden death, which has reignited conversations about the support for women in athletics, family control, and gender independence.
