A Brooklyn man, previously linked to the fatal beating of a dog named Moose in Prospect Park in 2022, has resurfaced and is reportedly back to threatening park-goers and their pets.
According to the dog’s owner, Jessica Chrustic, the suspect—identified by his dreadlocks and a long stick he allegedly used in the previous killing—allegedly threatened to shoot her on April 23 near the Picnic House. Chrustic has filed a police report but says no arrest has been made.
Additional accounts describe the same man lunging at another woman’s dog near Grand Army Plaza just last weekend. That dog’s owner described him as “extraordinarily aggressive” and said she chose not to engage further when he approached.
The woman reported being “caught off guard” by the sudden confrontation and decided to quickly distance herself and her pet. Community members have voiced concern over the suspect’s ongoing freedom and perceived lack of response from authorities.
Despite multiple reports, the Brooklyn man remains uncharged, prompting growing criticism of local law enforcement’s handling of the situation and their approach to individuals with mental health issues who pose public threats.
