Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson is demanding answers after her son’s high school aired segments on its morning news show promoting “Bisexual Plus Awareness Week.” The school’s student-run program defined “non-monosexual identities” as including bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and omnisexual orientations—attracting national backlash.
Hinson called the content “so bad and inappropriate” and said she declined to post it on social media. She questioned how administrators approved the segment, why parents weren’t informed, and whether the content was age-appropriate for minors.
In a letter to the U.S. Department of Education and collaboration with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Hinson requested a formal investigation and greater oversight to protect parental rights.
The Linn-Mar Community School District confirmed it is reviewing the matter to see whether any policies were violated and says it aims to support a safe, respectful environment for all students.
