Benjamin Netanyahu, the current Prime Minister of Israel, and Benny Gantz, who formerly served as Israel’s Defense Minister, have come to an agreement to create an emergency unity government in the midst of the continuing war. Gadi Eisenkot, a former chief of general staff for the Israel Defense Forces, and Gideon Sa’ar, a former deputy prime minister, are both ministers in this unity administration. The government’s priority is to ensure that the war is successfully managed, and as a result, it will not adopt any laws or make any decisions that are irrelevant to the battle. The current crisis has resulted in over 1,200 Israeli deaths and has resulted in over 100 persons being abducted by Hamas terrorists. The trend toward unification is a reflection of the necessity for a coordinated response to the continuing crisis.
