Whenever Democrats are called out for dishonesty, corruption, or other embarrassments, the liberal narrative is that “this time it’s different.” unique in a good sense. They insist it is and launch into an incoherent tangent whose central argument boils down to the two words “they’re not Republicans” to justify why it’s different when a Democrat does it. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has been called an “election skeptic” due to his political membership, but Time argues that this is unjust.
But since Trump’s defeat in the re-election, the term “election denier” has taken on new significance. There was a violent riot in front of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Since then, the phrase has come to be used by conservatives who distrust the reliability of voting systems and say that Trump’s 2020 election was stolen.
There are actually two issues that get muddled up when Jeffries is falsely labeled an “election denier.” According to Rachel Orey, who oversees elections at the non-partisan Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C.: “Casting undue doubt on the outcome of an election is irresponsible whether either side does it.” To keep everything in perspective, before the 2020 election, things were handled differently.
This is hardly the first time the media has shown bias when covering the behavior of Democrats and Republicans. Jeffries’s skepticism about the legitimacy of elections has been well-documented. His latest worries about the 2020 elections are worded differently than prior Republican fears about ballot harvesting and other voting tally manipulations.
As Elle Purnell, assistant editor at The Federalist, explains in her piece on this humorous post, no one denies that the election will take place in 2020. It would be dishonest to claim that birds do not exist in this setting.
The leftist media’s rejection of conservative perspectives has contributed to a rising tide of “election denialism,”, especially on college campuses. It’s reasonable to question the integrity of our elections. Democratic lawmakers have been investigating them for years despite widespread belief in the media that doing so is illegal. Some people still don’t think Bush beat Kerry easily in 2004. When compared to other elections, 2016 is barely unique. However, these individuals get a pass since they are Democrats and are only trying to demonstrate their patriotism in a peaceful manner.
Our media in the year 2022 looks like this.
