JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has rejected an internal petition challenging the company’s full return-to-office (RTO) mandate, making it clear that remote work flexibility will no longer be an option. Addressing employees during a recent town hall, Dimon dismissed the petition, which had gathered nearly 1,300 signatures, and reinforced that the decision is final.
He pointed out concerns over remote work, citing declines in productivity during virtual meetings and instances of employees misusing work-from-home privileges. Dimon stressed that managers would not have the authority to grant exemptions and suggested that those unhappy with the policy should consider other job opportunities.
The shift comes as JPMorgan joins other major corporations tightening workplace policies and requiring employees to return to pre-pandemic office routines. Dimon’s firm stance highlights the growing push by business leaders to restore in-office culture, despite pushback from segments of the workforce advocating for continued remote flexibility.
