Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized for an unnamed “medical complication,” his daughter Corinne wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday evening.
Foxx was in Atlanta shooting his new movie “Back In Action” with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close when he had the medical emergency on Tuesday. According to a report from entertainment website TMZ, it was at least initially serious enough that some family members flew in from out of town to be with him in the hospital.
One person told the outlet, “He’s talking to people now, which is good news.”
In an Instagram post, Corinne Foxx said that the situation happened on Tuesday and that the star seemed to be getting better.
“From the Foxx Family: We wanted to let you know that my dad, Jamie Foxx, got sick yesterday. Thanks to quick action and good care, he is on his way to getting better. We know how much he is loved and thank you for your prayers. During this time, the family has asked to be left alone. The Foxx Family, with love.”
Corinne’s post and the news that followed it didn’t mention any symptoms or possible diagnoses. They also didn’t say how long the “Any Given Sunday” star might need to stay under a doctor’s care.
