I’m afraid I’m going to need proof that Ocasio-Cortez has a real degree in economics. Because every time she opens her mouth on economics, it is clear to see she is totally lost. Her latest foray into the unknown (To her) world of economics is on healthcare.
She says we would need 2 trillion dollars to give everybody free healthcare. And she would raise taxes and slash the military budget. If you look back on history and you have a sharp mind, you will notice something that is very consistent. Every time this country was attacked was at a time when will let our military to slip into disrepair.
Fox News host Jesse Watters on Friday brought up Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s plan to pay for universal healthcare as an example that shows the New York congressional candidate doesn’t “know anything” about economics, and Greg Gutfeld put the nail in the coffin.
“The Five” co-hosts made the comments during a segment about Ocasio-Cortez’s contention that simply implementing the carbon tax and raising other taxes will pay the estimated “$30 trillion” it would cost to provide universal healthcare for every American.
“She’s just trying to keep it simple for the folks,” he added. “You are going way over their head. She is saying we can pay free healthcare if we do this and do this and do this and if we do this it’s gonna raise $2 trillion. Guess what, it will cost $30 trillion for free healthcare. So she is not even close to paying for it. I do think she is a nice person and she means well, but I don’t think she knows anything about economics. I’m impressed that she is asked about it.”
Before this incident, she said that the unemployment numbers were low because everyone has two jobs and are working 70 hours a week. Neither the number of jobs one holds or the number of hours worked are used in compiling the unemployment numbers.
