Former President Joe Biden sparked new debate over the 2024 election during a recent appearance on “The View,” mistakenly claiming that Vice President Kamala Harris had six full months to campaign after he stepped aside. In reality, Harris had just over 100 days between Biden’s withdrawal on July 21 and Election Day in November.
While defending Harris’s qualifications and involvement in key administration decisions, Biden pointed to systemic sexism and racism as major factors in her loss to Donald Trump. He also voiced frustration over the election result, maintaining that he could have won if he had stayed in the race.
Biden further criticized Trump’s first 100 days back in office, calling it the worst performance of any president in history.
His remarks have reignited conversations about the Democratic Party’s 2024 campaign strategy, the challenges Harris faced during her abbreviated run, and the broader obstacles confronting women and minority candidates in national politics.
