During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, host Joe Rogan and comedian Duncan Trussell criticized Democrats for abandoning their anti-war stance and commended former President Trump for his efforts to promote peace in Ukraine amid the looming threat of nuclear war.
Rogan expressed his disappointment that the anti-war left, which he identified with during his youth, seems to have vanished. He praised Trump as one of the few leaders actively working towards resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Both Rogan and Trussell condemned the political rhetoric surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war, referring to it as a “pep rally for murdering people.” Rogan lamented the unity among establishment Democrats and Republicans in prolonging the war, noting that Democrats, who were traditionally anti-war, now seem to support the narrative against Russia and in favor of Ukraine.
Rogan highlighted Trump’s remarks during a CNN Town Hall in May, where the former president boasted that he could bring an end to the war within 24 hours if he were re-elected. Trump emphasized his desire for both sides to stop suffering and expressed his willingness to meet with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine to resolve the conflict.
Rogan praised Trump’s response, describing it as “perfect,” and criticized CNN for attempting to create a controversial moment instead of addressing a critical issue with potential global consequences. He emphasized the urgent need for compromise to avert the possibility of nuclear war.
Trussell expressed his surprise at the controversy surrounding Trump’s statement, emphasizing that a general consensus among sane individuals should be to avoid violence and destruction. He argued that even an attempt to end a massive conflict is preferable to the continued suffering and loss of life.
The discussion between Rogan and Trussell underscored their disappointment with the shift in the Democrats’ stance on war and their appreciation for Trump’s rhetoric regarding peace in Ukraine, emphasizing the urgency of finding a compromise to prevent further escalation and potential catastrophe.
