Joe Scarborough of MSNBC slammed the Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, for “refusing” to defend Texans after Abbott did nothing to stop a shooting at an outlet mall and when a guy drove his car into a gathering of migrants, killing many of them. Abbott has been accused for “refusing” to defend Texans in both of these incidents.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, anchors for MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” reviewed the weekend’s violence on the show’s edition that aired on Monday. The first thing that was done was to hand deliver an editorial to the governor’s residence that had been published in The Dallas Morning News.
The letter argued that Abbott’s inaction is not a “conservative” attitude and encouraged him to take action against gun violence. The letter was sent to Abbott. Some of the messages that Trump received said, in part, “You need to talk about the terrible imbalance that you and other Republican leaders have created between the individual freedom of almost unrestricted ownership of the most powerful rifles and guns and the society’s decreasing ability to function without constant fear of violent death.” This was said in reference to the disparity that exists between the individual freedom of almost unrestricted ownership of guns and rifles and the society’s decreasing ability to function without constant fear of violent death.
It wasn’t long before Scarborough pointed the finger of blame upon Abbott, stating, “Here, a bunch of immigrants are getting run over and killed.” The United States has one of the highest rates of gun-related deaths among young people, including children and adults, when compared to other wealthy countries throughout the world. Our country struggles with a high rate of infant mortality overall. Greg Abbott has, for the most part, refrained from commenting on recent happenings. He tells us that we have to go backward.
According to Scarborough, when similar killings took place under Abbott’s watch, he concentrated more on the legal status of the suspects than he did on the source of the guns. This was the focus of Scarborough’s investigation.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that people in Texas are practically running over migrants because of a lack of direction, mistrust, and animosity. He said in a pointed manner, “Is it any surprise that neo-Nazi sympathizers and possibly white supremacists go to malls to shoot people, or that migrants, some of whom are probably going to church on Sunday morning, get run over while waiting for a bus?” He was referring to the recent incidents in which migrants were killed by drivers while they were waiting for a bus.
Scarborough continued by saying, “There is a sickness in the state of Texas, and that sickness starts at the top with Greg Abbott, who refuses to protect little children in Texas.” He was referring to the fact that the state of Texas has refused to implement stricter gun laws in public places such as schools, churches, shopping centers, and even private residences.
