Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, challenged Republicans to impeach President Biden, stating, “Go ahead, do it. I dare you.” He made these remarks during a discussion with reporters in his Capitol Hill office when asked about GOP efforts to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Biden.
Fetterman expressed confidence that such an impeachment effort would fail, saying, “If you can find the votes, go ahead, because you’re going to lose. It’s a loser.”
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy previously stated that an impeachment inquiry against President Biden would only proceed with a formal House vote.
Fetterman also criticized former President Donald Trump, referencing his legal troubles and impeachment, and stated that he was tired of certain Republicans talking “like they’re hard a—s.”
Reports suggest that House Republican leaders are considering launching an impeachment inquiry against President Biden, focusing on allegations related to his and his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and a plea deal that was under consideration for Hunter Biden’s tax investigation.
The House of Representatives is set to return from its August recess, and the impeachment inquiry is expected to be overshadowed by legislative priorities, including government funding negotiations.
