Joran van der Sloot has admitted to killing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway 18 years ago. In a shocking admission revealed in an Alabama courtroom, van der Sloot confessed to bludgeoning Holloway to death with a cinder block on a beach in Aruba after she fought off his sexual advances. While he isn’t charged in Holloway’s death, his confession brought closure to a case that has captivated the nation for nearly two decades. He had long been the prime suspect in Holloway’s disappearance. Van der Sloot was sentenced to 20 years in prison for extortion, to run concurrently with a 28-year sentence he is serving in Peru for the 2010 slaying of Stephany Flores. Holloway’s body has never been found.
