In a recent episode of ABC’s “The View,” co-host Joy Behar openly challenged former President Donald Trump, inviting him to target her and her fellow co-hosts if he seeks retribution against his adversaries in a potential future presidency. This bold invitation followed a discussion on the show regarding Trump’s intentions if re-elected, particularly his hinted plans for settling scores with his critics.

During the show’s Friday broadcast, Behar raised the issue, citing Trump’s recent interview with Univision. In this interview, Trump hinted at a possible agenda focused on retribution, should he return to the Oval Office. Behar humorously remarked that this revenge mission might commence after a hypothetical prison term for Trump.

The conversation turned serious with a clip from the Univision interview, where Trump implied that the alleged misuse of the Department of Justice against him could be mirrored once he regains power. This comment led the hosts of “The View” to ponder its implications for the country and their show.

Behar likened Trump’s statements to the infamous “Nixon’s enemy list,” while Sunny Hostin drew parallels to historical events like “McCarthyism” and “J. Edgar Hoover’s list,” suggesting a cycle of history repeating itself. The hosts expressed concern over Trump’s potential to target his detractors, emphasizing the risks to even his own supporters, who Behar noted could quickly fall out of favor.

Co-host Ana Navarro voiced her apprehensions about the misuse of governmental power against political opponents, while Alyssa Farah Griffin, another co-host, offered her perspective. She stated that Trump’s motivations for a presidential run seemed to revolve around avoiding legal troubles and seeking vengeance, calling this a frightening prospect.

Griffin pointed out that Trump’s list of targets could include journalists and former allies like ex-Vice President Mike Pence and former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. Hostin and Behar expanded on this, suggesting that they and their show could also be on Trump’s radar.

In a direct on-air confrontation, Behar stared into the camera, boldly daring Trump to target “The View,” emphasizing their daily broadcast and readiness to face any challenges that might come from such a confrontation. This assertive stance from the show’s co-hosts highlights the tense political climate and the apprehensions surrounding Trump’s potential future actions.
