Kavanaugh Accuser May Not Show Up at Senate Hearing

Committee chairman, Sen Chuck Grassley says that Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser has not confirmed that she will appear at the Senate hearing on Monday. Grassley said that he has tried emailing her three or four times with no luck. The hearing is supposed to be in an open setting, with those who will be testifying will be under oath. Could that be why she is hesitating?

I’d also like to know who is paying for her lawyer. That is a question that would likely be asked. If she really didn’t want to come forward, why did she hire an extremely expensive attorney back in August? She may also be asked how she could be so certain about some of the details and so fuzzy as to the location and even the year of the alleged attack?

    From The Daily Caller

Grassley announced Monday that the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold hearings on the woman’s accusations, which surfaced Sunday after Blasey Ford granted an interview to The Washington Post. The senator noted to Hewitt, however, that he had reached out to Ford and her attorney “three or four times” in the last 36 hours but has yet to receive any communication.

“It kinda raises the question: Do they want to come to the public hearing or not?” he inquired.

Ford detailed to TheWP how she sent an anonymous letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein regarding the alleged encounter months earlier. Feinstein said she forwarded Ford’s letter to the FBI for review but never made the allegations public until stories began to surface around the letter itself after Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings ended.

Grassley was asked if Kavanaugh would be questioned if Ford did not show up for the hearing and Grassley said that the hearing only makes sense if Ford is there and that no hearing would take place without her. Personally, I think this is more stalling to keep Kavanaugh from joining the court before the next session starts on October 1st. You cannot join the court in the middle of a session.
