Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the speaker of the House, claimed on Sunday that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is “abusing his power” in his investigation of former president Donald Trump.
Alvin Bragg is abusing his position to attack President Trump, while having reduced the majority of crimes to misdemeanors, including severe charges. McCarthy said on Twitter, “He has separate standards for political opponents” after Trump said on Truth Social that he expects to be imprisoned this coming week as a result of “illegal leaks.”
McCarthy claimed that the Republicans had effectively rejected the radical DC crime bill and that they would look into any instances in which government cash had been used to promote the “perversion of justice” by Soros-backed district attorneys elsewhere in the country. He was alluding to Congress’s rejection of the District of Columbia’s more mild bill to amend the criminal code.
On Saturday, Trump said he would go to prison for his alleged role in paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels in light of the “illegal disclosures” made by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. A demonstration, he said, was necessary for light of the new knowledge.

As soon as Trump made his statement, an ex-president spokeswoman said, “no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Justice Dept. and the DA’s office, to NBC and other fake news carriers, that the George Soros-funded Radical Left Democrat prosecutor in Manhattan has decided to take his Witch-Hunt to the next level.”
The president is perfectly within his rights to stress his innocence and the militarization of our court system. He’s planning a big rally in Texas next weekend. “Make America Great Again!” the spokesman yelled out.
As if that weren’t enough, McCarthy followed up his initial statement by demanding that “relevant committees immediately investigate” whether Bragg is using federal funds to “subvert our democracy by interfering in elections” by targeting the former president, who has already declared his intention to run for president again in 2024.
On Saturday, McArthy lambasted the radical district attorney for releasing dangerous criminals while pursuing political retribution against President Trump.
