King Charles III has officially removed Prince Andrew, Duke of York’s royal titles, declaring that he will no longer be entitled to the style “His Royal Highness” or the title of “Prince.”
The decision follows persistent scrutiny over Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his subsequent civil settlement related to abuse allegations. Andrew, who had previously lost several patronages and stepped back from public duties, now retains only his vice-admiral rank from his Royal Navy service.
The formal change, announced this week by the Crown Office, is considered the final step in Andrew’s removal from the core structure of the royal family and underscores the monarchy’s response to prolonged public and legal pressure.
