During a recent press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphatically dismissed allegations against President Biden regarding his supposed involvement with Hunter Biden’s business associates. The issue arose when New York Post reporter Steven Nelson questioned Biden’s interactions with these associates, which have been a focal point in the recently approved official impeachment inquiry against the President.
Jean-Pierre criticized the House Republicans for their decision to launch the impeachment inquiry, labeling it a waste of time and a baseless political maneuver. She argued that the Republicans are neglecting critical issues, such as funding for Ukraine, border security, and the potential government shutdown next year, to focus on unfounded allegations against the President.
“There’s absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing by the President,” Jean-Pierre asserted. She emphasized that inquiries into Biden’s conversations with his family have yielded no proof of misconduct.
Nelson countered Jean-Pierre’s statement by suggesting there is evidence of Biden’s interactions with his family’s business associates, and accused the President of lying about it. Jean-Pierre firmly rejected this claim, reiterating the lack of evidence and dismissing the impeachment inquiry as a political stunt without merit.
Jean-Pierre stressed that the Republicans should instead focus on pressing national issues, criticizing them for not taking action to prevent the upcoming potential government shutdown and for not supporting Ukraine. She ended the exchange by turning her attention to another reporter.
This exchange follows a recent press conference where President Biden was questioned about his alleged interactions with his son and brother’s foreign business associates. Biden vehemently denied these interactions, labeling the claims as lies. However, one of Hunter Biden’s former business associates contradicted the President’s denial in a statement to Fox News Digital, calling Biden’s claim “complete malarkey” and asserting that there is ample evidence to refute his denial.
