A coalition of left leaning activist groups organized and supported tens of thousands of protesters in cities across the United States to oppose Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.
The demonstrations took place nationwide following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good during a federal enforcement action in Minneapolis. Organizers called on supporters to gather in major cities to protest ICE tactics and demand changes to federal immigration policy.
Large crowds formed in locations including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, where demonstrators marched, held signs, and chanted against ICE’s presence in local communities. The coordinated events were led by multiple advocacy organizations and grassroots networks working together to mobilize supporters.
While many of the protests remained peaceful, some cities reported isolated confrontations with law enforcement and arrests as crowds grew. The wave of demonstrations marked one of the largest recent nationwide efforts opposing ICE and highlighted deep divisions over federal immigration enforcement and the use of force by authorities.
