In a recent interview, Chaya Raichik, the proprietor of the viral Twitter account Libs of TikTok, discussed how Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) had offered assistance after she had been doxxed.
Before The Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz revealed her identity as Libs of TikTok, the creator had chosen to remain nameless despite receiving death threats and threats against her family.
While appearing on “Tucker Carlson Today,” Raichik praised Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson for his support and stated that someone from Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration had contacted to offer sanctuary at the governor’s house after she was doxxed.
How many people came out to you, defended you, and sided with you? After Carlson inquired, Raichik gave a resounding “yes.”
She then turned to Carlson and said, “First of all, you.” She went on to say that she much valued Carlson’s encouragement.
This is a simple one,” Carlson said.
Carlson’s startled “really?” interrupted Raichik as he continued, “I will say this, when I was doxxed, someone from Ron DeSantis’ team phoned me.”
She continued, saying the caller had assured her that DeSantis cared about her family’s well-being and that they could stay in a guest house at the governor’s residence if they ever needed it.
“She told me, ‘The governor asked me to deliver a message. He said, “Come to the governor’s residence if you or your family don’t feel secure and need a place to go, hide, and stay.”
“What?” The revelation shocked Carlson, and he expressed his shock by exclaiming.
For as long as you need, she responded, “We have a guest home for you,” Raichik said.
Still, in disbelief, Carlson pressed for details: “The Governor of Florida did this.”
Yes, Raichik confirmed; she was amazed by the act. When asked how she felt about DeSantis’ assistance, she said, “I can’t even — I was like — I was almost in tears.” She explained that she had been living in California at the time and was utterly blown away by DeSantis’ willingness even to express his support, let alone offer her such assistance.
“You guys are nuts!” Carlson replied, ad-libbing, “Well, I’m so pleased I asked that question.”
