Lindsey Graham, a Republican Senator, received disapproval from his supporters as he left the stage at a rally in his home state of South Carolina. This came after he campaigned for former President Donald Trump.

During the rally in Pickens, South Carolina, Graham addressed the audience of Trump supporters, emphasizing the importance of finding common ground despite differences. However, he faced a continuous stream of muted boos from many attendees. Graham expressed his hope to unite the party, as he believed Trump would be the Republican Party’s nominee. He warned about the potential consequences of the opposing party’s success in the 2024 elections, such as the stacking of the Supreme Court, the admission of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia as states, and the elimination of the electoral college.

Graham acknowledged Trump as a candidate who could significantly impact American history, stating that if Trump could win once, he could do it again. Graham pledged his support for Trump’s presidential campaign and assured the audience that Trump would easily win in South Carolina. He concluded his speech with a prayer for the United States of America and expressed his blessings for President Donald Trump.

Upon finishing his speech, Graham exited the stage from the left side, which angered the crowd of Trump supporters who responded with boos and thumbs-down gestures.

Graham’s initial reception at the podium was met with boos, causing him to pause before addressing the crowd. Despite the ongoing booing, he acknowledged the county’s pride in its Medal of Honor recipients and emphasized the importance of voicing beliefs. Graham asked the audience how many of them considered Trump to be a great leader, receiving applause but quickly followed by continued yelling from the crowd.

Graham argued that without Trump, his policies would not have been implemented, as the former president achieved something unmatched by others. Trump later took the stage and attempted to rally support for Graham, despite further boos from the audience. Trump promised to assist Graham during his reelection campaign.

In recent years, Graham has faced criticism from Trump supporters for various reasons. In 2021, a group confronted Graham at Reagan National Airport, labeling him a “traitor” for his post-election comments about Trump. Supporters of Trump and staunch conservatives have also criticized Graham for his stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Graham’s support for Ukraine’s defensive measures, including a visit to Kyiv with Senator Richard Blumenthal, has drawn ire from this group.

During day 134 of the war, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy called on senators to back the decision of providing Ukraine with modern air defense systems. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for sufficient sky security in Ukraine so that its citizens could live without fear.
