Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) has announced plans to launch a censure resolution against Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), accusing him of misrepresenting his military service and facing allegations of crimes against women.
The measure would be introduced as a privileged resolution, triggering a House-wide vote within two legislative days, under rules that fast-track such matters. Mace’s letter to the Speaker cites a general’s public statement that he neither wrote nor signed the recommendation for Mills’s Bronze Star award. Prosecutors are separately investigating the misconduct claims against Mills.
Mills denies all wrongdoing and says the allegation of a behind-the-scenes deal to block his censure is false. The censure attempt reflects growing scrutiny within the House GOP over ethics and accountability among its members.
