A recent Emerson College/PIX11/The Hill poll reveals Zohran Mamdani leading the New York City mayoral field with 43% support among active voters. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo trails behind at 28%, marking a 15-point gap. The race also includes Republican Curtis Sliwa at 10% and Independent Mayor Eric Adams at 7%, while 9% of respondents remain undecided.
Mamdani’s lead is especially pronounced among voters under 50, where he outpaces Cuomo by 29 points. Among those over 50, his lead shrinks but still stands at six points. Head-to-head matchups further favor Mamdani: he would beat Cuomo 47% to 40%, best Adams by 21 points, and Sliwa by 24.
Additional poll findings indicate that Mamdani holds a 48% favorability rating—higher than his major rivals—and that 85% of his supporters are firmly committed to voting for him. The survey, which included 600 likely voters, carries a margin of error of ±3.9%.
