A 28-year-old realtor in Dallas was shot and killed after a brief street encounter involving a luxury vehicle turned deadly, according to police.
Ashlee Long had just left a downtown bar with friends on April 5 when one of them allegedly brushed a hand against a passing black Mercedes-Benz. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Kendrick Finch, reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire, hitting Long and another person in the group. Long later died at the hospital, while the second victim survived.
Finch, who has a history of prior criminal offenses including burglary and drug charges, surrendered to police days later. He has been charged with murder, and his request for a bond reduction was denied by a judge.
Long’s family described her as a driven young professional with a promising future. Her father called the killing senseless and demanded accountability.
The fatal shooting has sparked renewed concern over the volatility of street confrontations and the growing toll of gun violence across the city.
